USS Enterprise Desk Intercom from Star Trek: The Original Series ( Paramount TV, 1966-1969 ). Vintage original wedge shape desk intercom prop constructed of resin and wood with fabric speaker screen and opaque pill-shaped Lucite window inset. Retaining 2-screw holes on the bottom for mounting to flat surface and aluminum foil-lined cavity behind the pill-shaped panel for backlighting by an incandescent bulb ( not present ). These desk intercoms were installed in station consoles on the bridge and desks throughout the USS Enterprise. The set piece measures 5" x 3.5" 1.75" and exhibits age, production wear with dings and scuffing to paint. Exhibited at the legendary Star Trek: The Exhibit at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, Washington, D.C., February 1992 through January 1993.
