SPACE 1999 REPLICA LABORATORY EAGLE MODEL |
Updated: April 29, 2026
An officially licensed, studio scale replica of the Laboratory Eagle from Gerry and Sylvia Anderson's Space: 1999. Inhabitants of Moonbase Alpha, including the Moonbase's commander, John Koenig ( Martin Landau ), used a Type-E version of the Eagle Transporter modified to serve as both a large remote laboratory and a means of transport throughout the series. In the Season 2 Episode "The Metamorph," Maya ( Catherine Schell ) the daughter of the Mentor ( Brian Blessed ) of the planet Psychon - traveled on Eagle 4, a Transporter equipped with a dual rocket booster on top, to live permanently on Moonbase Alpha.
The Eagle was the signature vessel of the seminal sci-fi series and appeared in promotional materials throughout its run. Designed by Brian Johnson based on such predecessors as the moonbus from 2001: A Space Odyssey, model miniatures of the ship were built by model makers Gary Dickens, David Seymour, and John Phillips at three scales: 11" ( 28 cm ), 22" ( 56 cm ), and 44" ( 112 cm ).
This Signature Edition replica of the 44" filming model was created for Sixteen 12's Masterpiece Collection based on series model builder Martin Bower's original production tooling pattern. The vessel is constructed from a variety of materials, including cast resin, metal, and plastic, and features such ornate details as detachable pods, three crew member figurines, hand turned aluminum engine bells and altitude thrusters, and matte decals applied throughout the body.
Also included is a Sixteen 12 placard signed by Schell and numbered "044 of 100." The placard exhibits some scratching and the model exhibits minor paint flaking from handling. Dimensions: ( Approx. ) 44" x 10" x 10" ( 112 cm x 25.5 cm x 25.5 cm )
Value: $3,000.
