The one widely known as the "grandaddy of all disaster movies" celebrates its 40th Anniversary with the original December 19, 1972 release of "The Poseidon Adventure". British film magazine Cinema Retro publishes a limited edition issue with an 11 page photo feature on the making of this disaster classic with behind the scenes photos, a look at the impressive original 22 foot long ocean liner model, an interview with noted Civil War artist Mort Kunstler and some insider revelations from actress Carol Lynley.

Kunstler provides a rare look at the movie poster campaign commissioned by 20th Century Fox Studios with his early concept art to finished product. Almost 50 photos encompassing stills, behind the scenes shots and the actors costume tests. Also within the pages are 40th Anniversary looks back at "Deliverance", Alfred Hitchcock's "Frenzy" and for the James Bond 50th Anniversary a look at his most famous nemesis Blofeld.
