Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea - Movie Promo Book - 1961 - years before TV audiences took a weekly "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea," producer Irwin Allen launched his Seaview submarine on a big screen adventure which paved the way for the television hit.

Here is 20th Century Fox's lavish printed promo booklet for the Allen's Sci-fi spectacle, and it's in great shape. Now 46 years old, this deluxe, fold-out booklet displays the energy Fox put into the movie, covering everything from its all-star cast and special effects, to the theme song recorded by Frankie Avalon. A die-cut flap introduces the piece, previewing the film's sensational advertising campaign. Inside, you'll find dozens of photos, a synopsis of the storyline, and plenty of behind the scenes info on the movie's cast and special effects.

There's also extensive commentary on the movie tie-ins: records, comics, books, and board games - everything Voyage. The booklet measures 9 1/4" wide x 12 1/4" tall when folded, opening up to become double-size when unfolded. 14 pages in all, plus the die-cut front piece. An amazing sci-fi artifact, nearly half a century old, and surely a classy collectible not found just floating around these days. If you're a Voyage fan, dive deep!
