James and his twin sons shown here ( first photo ). They were in the first Trek movie together. ( Montgomery on the left; Chris on the right. ) James had a total of 7 children including a 14-month old daughter when he passed away at age 85. Chris honored his late father by playing an transporter technician in the new reboot movies, Star Trek and Star Trek Into Darkness, reprised his father's iconic role in the fan film series Star Trek Continues from 2012 to 2017, as well as in the computer game Star Trek Online in 2016.
