Martin Bower-Built Altares Filming Miniature used in Space: 1999 ( ITC, 1975-1977 ). Vintage original model miniature constructed of cast resin, resin-coated dense foam, acrylic, and mixed-media components with sculptural tech and surface detail, expertly studio painted in industrial grays, seafoam green, orange paint and tape details, and with painted and decal badging and embellishments. The streamline ship, with its distinctive winged Photon Particle Collection Panels, was originally designed and built by legendary model maker Martin Bower for the made-for-TV Sci-Fi film The Day After Tomorrow ( 1975 ). The ship was repurposed for Space: 1999. The 38" x 14" 6.5" model exhibits age, production wear, soiling and missing pieces.
