DOCTOR WHO ORIGINAL BRONZE ASYLUM DALEK |
Updated: April 16, 2026
The NSDA4 dalek from series 7, episode 1 of the revived sci-fi television series Doctor Who, titled Asylum of the Daleks. NSDA4, the inventory code for this specific prop, was one of the titular asylum's mad, battle-damaged daleks, identifiable by its specific missing hemispheres, an effect that was achieved by removing hemispheres and filling the resultant space with an inverted black hemisphere. Though these missing hemispheres are no longer evident on the Dalek, the mended holes where once they were are visible from within.
This Dalek has also seen use across a number of other episodes, following the hemisphere repair. It has featured in every Dalek story since 2012, was a leading "Time War" Dalek in the special episode Day of the Doctor, and has been used for several promotional appearances, such as appearing at Buckingham Palace alongside Tom Baker, Peter Davison, John Hurt, and Matt Smith. Further details on NSDA4's usage across the years can be found here: https://www.dalek6388.co.uk/?s=nsda4
The dalek is made of wood, resin, rubber and metal, and mounted on wheels. The eye stalk and arms move, and the eye and two lights on the head light up. there is a seat fitted inside for a performer, who, from within the Dalek, could control the arms. It is marked "Nick 2", "Roath Lock 2" and "DWE" on the inside, and numbered "5" on the inside of the head. The dalek exhibits some wear.
Value: $50,000.
