Buck Kartalian gorilla costume from Planet of the Apes, mounted on a custom display mannequin. (TCF, 1968) Buck Kartalian's original leather-trimmed tunic and pants, as worn by the actor in his role as a regular foreground gorilla in addition to his key role as "Julius". The vinyl gauntlet gloves were worn by a background gorilla; the boots are not original to the costume, but included to complete the display. The rifle and billy club are both replicas.

The entire costume is mounted on a custom pose-able mannequin, with a lifelike head based on Kartalian's original appliances for the film, cast in acrylic resin and finished with glass eyes and coarse black hair.

Value: $8,000 - $10,000.
