ORIGINAL FUGITIVES IN SPACE PRISONER COSTUME |
Updated: April 11, 2015
This is an original complete costume from the Lost in Space episode,
"Fugitives of Space". This was a great written script for Jonathan
Harris and Mark Goddard building their friendly relationship for
each other. The make-up on the alien monster was done by master
artist, John Chambers. After this episode aired, Mr. Chambers used
the same make-up concept for the classic movies of, "Planet of the
Apes". Rarely, do any original costumes come available for purchase
from Irwin Allen's TV shows.
Back on August 5, 1998 one of the original prisoner shirts were up for
sell on eBay. Without any pants, it sold for $262.00 which was a great
price for it. This costume was appraised at, $3,000.00. and did not meet
the reserve asking price on December 12, 2001. The costume had 10 bids,
and a high bid of $900.00 for the costume.
This costume is made of red & pale mauve flannel (both pants & shirt)
Numbered "8611" faintly on the front in silhouette white ink, with internal Western Costume ink stamps.
Value: $1,500.
