An original hand-painted pitch book for a TV series adaptation of Jules Vernes Journey to the Center of the Earth ( Scribner, Armstrong & Co., 1874 ) proposed by Irwin Allen to CBS but never produced. The book features illustrations in gouache and marker ink of various set pieces from the film including gigantic prehistoric monsters, the lost continent of Atlantis, the mammoth mushroom forest, and gargantuan chameleons. Measures 24 x 19 x 1.25 inches.
