How did The Spindrift get it's name?
Spindrift is the foam that is cast in the wake of a ship as it cuts through the water.
According to an interview with Stefan Arngrim, Kurt Kasznar was the one who first came
up with the name. The actors were all sitting around one day and Kasznar said that the
ship should have a name; all sorts of ridiculous names were brought up, but Kasznar
produced the winner.
The name stuck everyone started to call it that until the writers began to put it in the
scripts. According to Arngrim, stuff like that used to happen alot on the show.
