Buttons like this one were made for the mayoral campaign of Oswald Copplepot in Gotham City. Batman Returns, Tim Burton's sequel to his 1989 blockbuster, reinstated the camp elements of the original TV series Batman ( ABC, 1966-68 ) with the oversized attitudes and actions of the villains Penguin and Catwoman ( Michelle Pfeiffer ). Although it didn't match the financial success of the previous film, Batman Returns nevertheless earned a very respectable $266 million worldwide, inspired another sequel, and is one of the most fondly remembered films in the franchise by fans.
