Batman's ( Val Kilmer ) metal spring-action sonar Batarang from Joel Schumacher's Batman Forever. Batman used his sonar-capable Batarang during his final confrontation with Edward Nygma, aka The Riddler ( Jim Carrey ).
The film was nominated for three Academy Awards including Best Cinematography, Best Sound, and Best Sound Effects Editing. Batman Forever also received an MTV Movie Award for Best Song from a Movie for "Kiss from a Rose" by Seal.
This metal Batarang is equipped with a pair of curved bladed bat wings on each side of an oval center held together by a screw. The front features a faux button on the upper side of the center piece. The two halves are spring-loaded, and when closed, will spring into the open position when released. This lot exhibits scuffs and scratches on the metal finish, pitting on the back, and a buildup of grime in the grooves. Dimensions: 12" x 7.5" x 1" ( 30.5 cm x 19 cm x 2.5 cm ).
